Celui-ci a fond\u00e9 \u00e0 Pune (Inde) un institut mondialement connu o\u00f9 il a enseign\u00e9 jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 sa mort en 2014.&nbsp; Sa fille Geeta a grandement contribu\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement de la m\u00e9thode, en particulier pour les femmes. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, son fils Prashant et sa petite-fille Abhijata perp\u00e9tuent son enseignement, ainsi que tous les professeurs certifi\u00e9s dans le monde.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/yogabrabantwallon.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/bks-iyengar-family.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-150\" width=\"344\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/yogabrabantwallon.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/bks-iyengar-family.jpg 500w, https:\/\/yogabrabantwallon.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/bks-iyengar-family-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 344px) 100vw, 344px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Le yoga Iyengar se caract\u00e9rise par l&rsquo;importance particuli\u00e8re accord\u00e9e aux s\u00e9quence de postures, au travail sur l\u2019alignement et \u00e0 la dur\u00e9e dans la posture afin d&rsquo;augmenter les effets b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques sur la sant\u00e9 physique, physiologique, nerveuse, mentale et spirituelle.   Des supports &#8211; couvertures, briques, ceintures, chaises, sangles et traversins &#8211; sont utilis\u00e9s pour permettre \u00e0 quiconque de r\u00e9aliser les postures (asanas) dans l\u2019alignement correct, sans danger et dans le respect des limites physiologiques de chacun(e).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il existe plusieurs familles de postures qui sont pratiqu\u00e9es en yoga Iyengar: les postures debout, les postures assises, les postures d&rsquo;\u00e9tirement vers l&rsquo;avant (flexions), les torsions, les postures d&rsquo;\u00e9tirement vers l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re (arcs), les postures abdominales, les postures invers\u00e9es et les postures de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette approche d\u2019une grande pr\u00e9cision restaure le plein potentiel physiologique de chacun(e) \u00e0 travers l\u2019assouplissement des articulations et la tonification de la musculature.
